The 28th Annual Alzheimer's Association Caregiver Conference on Aging, Alzheimer's and Brain Health runs on Tuesday, November 10, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Portland Ballroom 251-254 and 257-258 at the Oregon Convention Center. The venue requires registration. The Alzheimer's Association Oregon Chapter runs the programme.

Book the Monday night. Plan the Tuesday exit around the 4:00 p.m. close.

One night covers the schedule

A Monday, November 9 arrival and a Tuesday, November 10 departure is the count the clock supports. The programme opens at 8:00 a.m. A Tuesday-morning arrival loses the opening session. The 4:00 p.m. close leaves five hours between a morning checkout and the last session. Three options cover that gap: a late checkout confirmed in writing, the Tuesday night, or a locker at the venue.

The organiser publishes no hotel block

The chapter's conference page names no hotel partner, no group code and no rate. It mentions parking nowhere. The venue page carries the room names, the November 10 date, the 800.272.3900 contact line and the registration requirement. It prints no session clock. The 8:00 a.m. start and the 4:00 p.m. finish come from the chapter page.

Lockers at three points in the building

The convention center runs LocketGo lockers at the MLK Lobby near the main entrance, the Holladay Lobby at the north end, and the Ginkoberry Concourse at the south end. A guest reserves one on a mobile device with a credit card. The price sits on the reservation platform. Complimentary Wi-Fi covers the lobbies and the meeting rooms.

The garage: $15, or $15 to $25 at the gate

Standard daily entry runs $15 for up to 18 hours with no in-and-out privileges. On event days the venue charges a dynamic $15 to $25 at garage entry. Budget the top of that band. The garage sets the number at the gate and publishes it as a range.

A guest who drives in on Monday and again on Tuesday pays the entry rate twice. A guest who leaves the car at the property pays the overnight terms once. Three rules decide the morning. The garage opens at 6:00 a.m. Overnight parking is prohibited. Availability runs first come, first served. A property that promises an early arrival promises something the garage does not control.

The registration window

Registration is open. The first 250 Oregon family caregivers register free through Oregon Care Partners. The chapter limits those places to Oregon residents on a first-come, first-served basis. The option at registration is Oregon Family Caregiver. The chapter puts the audience at more than 192,000 Oregonians providing unpaid care for a person living with Alzheimer's or another dementia. Questions go to the 24/7 helpline at 800.272.3900.

Arrive by rail

TriMet charges $2.80 for a 2½-hour adult ticket on buses, MAX light rail and WES, and stops charging after $5.60 in a day. MAX Red, Blue and Green line trains serve the convention center. Children 6 and under ride free with a paying passenger.

Where to book

Book in the Lloyd District and ask the property for its walking distance to the MLK Boulevard entrance. Put the checkout hour and the cancellation deadline in writing. Decide the bag plan before Tuesday: a late checkout, the Tuesday night, or a locker in the MLK Lobby. If you drive, leave the car where it sleeps and enter the garage after 6:00 a.m.
