The 2027 ASCO Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium runs Thursday 21 January through Saturday 23 January at Moscone West, 800 Howard Street, San Francisco. Two deadlines fall on one day and one minute: December 2, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET. ASCO names it the “Hotel Reservations and Early Registration Deadline”.
One Date Does Two Jobs
The meeting site repeats the pairing on two pages: the hotel page and the Dates to Know page. A reservation made after that minute is processed on a space-available basis and may carry a higher rate.
What the Registration Ladder Does
The registration fee steps twice, on 3 December 2026 and 9 January 2027. A physician or scientist attending in person pays $975 member or $1,495 nonmember on or before December 2, $1,125 or $1,645 between December 3 and January 8, and $1,200 or $1,720 from January 9.
Other categories step on the same dates. In-training runs $290 to $440 to $515 for members and $375 to $525 to $600 for nonmembers, an affiliated health professional $545 to $695 to $770 and $805 to $955 to $1,030, a patient advocate $270, $420 then $495 in person, and a nonmember in a nonmedical or industry role $1,835, $1,985 then $2,060.
Online-only rates sit lower and step on the same dates. A physician or scientist pays $780 member or $1,195 nonmember before December 2, $905 or $1,320 from December 3 through January 8, and $955 or $1,370 from January 9. Online-only patient advocates pay nothing in any window.
The early fee and the room block share the date, so a guest who wants the lower registration rate and a room inside the block works to one deadline.
The Room Rate Comes From the Housing Portal
The meeting pages publish no nightly room rate. The rate and the property list come from the housing portal at the moment of booking, and the reservation confirmation carries the property's own change and cancellation window.
Group Blocks Run Through the Customer Service Center
Group room blocks go through the ASCO GI Cancers Symposium Customer Service Center. The center sits at 11208 Waples Mill Road, Suite 112, Fairfax, VA 22030. It answers on 888-788-1522 inside the United States or +1-571-549-4515 outside it, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET. Housing questions go to gihousing@spargoinc.com and registration questions to giregistration@spargoinc.com.
The Corridor at Moscone West
Moscone West sits at 800 Howard Street. Our directory lists eight properties inside 400 metres of it, and those are the rooms to put in front of a guest who wants to walk. InterContinental San Francisco, 888 Howard Street, 124 m. The Pickwick Hotel, 85 5th Street, 212 m. San Francisco Marriott Marquis, 780 Mission Street, 217 m. Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa, 250 4th Street, 219 m. The Mosser Hotel, 54 4th Street, 232 m. Hotel Zelos San Francisco, 12 4th Street, 266 m. Four Seasons, 757 Market Street, 352 m. The St. Regis San Francisco, 125 3rd Street, 389 m. Distances are straight-line, not walk times.
The Desk Script
Four questions cover most ASCO GI calls. First, has the guest booked inside the housing portal? Second, does the guest need the early registration rate, since both deadlines share one minute? Third, is the guest booking a group block, which runs through the Customer Service Center instead? Fourth, which nights does the guest need across the three meeting days, from the Thursday opening to the Saturday close?
Two instructions close the call. Register and reserve only through the meeting's own site. Housing questions go to the Customer Service Center on 888-788-1522 and at gihousing@spargoinc.com.
