The show runs Thursday to Sunday
The 68th Annual Fall Portland Metro Dealers RV Show opens Thursday, Nov. 12 and closes Sunday, Nov. 15 at the Portland Expo Center. Doors run 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The show fills Halls A, B, C, D and E, and the Portland Metro RV Dealers Association runs it.
That Sunday close decides the room. A reservation covering four show nights ends with a Sunday morning checkout, which puts you on the road before the last five hours of the show.
What the room has to cover
Nov. 11 to 15 read as an arrival and a checkout gives four nights: Wednesday 11, Thursday 12, Friday 13 and Saturday 14, with a Sunday exit. That leaves Sunday afternoon trailer loading with no room behind it.
Two shapes cover the whole show. Arrive Wednesday Nov. 11 and keep Sunday Nov. 15 as a fifth night, checking out Monday Nov. 16. Or arrive Thursday Nov. 12 and check out Monday Nov. 16 for four nights. The second costs one night less and gives up the Wednesday evening. The first buys a settled arrival the night before the doors open.
Either way, the last night is Sunday. Ask the property to confirm a Monday checkout time and put that Sunday night on the reservation before you compare rates. A room that ends Sunday morning cannot hold a Sunday show day.
Parking is $15 per car per entry
The Expo Center publishes its standard rate at $15 per car per entry and states that parking prices may vary during special events because of demand. A four-day dealer show fits that wording, so treat $15 as the floor and ask what the show rate is.
Each entry is a charge. Driving in and out across four show days costs $60 at the standard rate. Leaving the car in the lot and walking or riding removes the repeat charges and the queue at the booth.
Load the pass before you drive
The venue sells parking in advance and describes entry through the phone's digital wallet. Its ticket support page carries the steps: sign in from the phone, open the event, tap Add to Apple Wallet or Save to G Pay, then Add for one ticket or Add All for several. The wallet may prompt for payment details, and the venue states you do not need them.
Transfers cost nothing. The same page states that a ticket or pass can go to a phone number or email with no fee, and the recipient has seven days to accept. That matters when the person who books the room is not the person driving.
What the lot accepts
Parking facilities take cash and major credit cards. Accessible spaces sit close to the building entrances and require a valid DMV disability parking placard on the vehicle. Curbside drop-off zones run in front of each building for unloading at the door.
The transit option
TriMet's MAX Yellow Line stops at the Expo Center station, a short walk from the entrance, and several bus routes serve the area. The venue states that the walk from parking or transit to the entrance is exposed to the weather. Bike racks sit next to the MAX stop and outside Halls D and E.
What to put in the room request
The Expo Center event page names no hotel partner and no rate for this show, so no property has published a number to compare. Submit one request and ask for four things: the Sunday night or a Monday late checkout, the all-in nightly rate with Portland's lodging tax included, whether the property runs a shuttle or sits on a MAX line, and the cancellation deadline in writing.
A group request through hotelhuddle goes to 50-plus hotels in the destination, draws responses in 24 to 72 hours, and carries no markup. Submitting costs nothing and you pay the property directly. Group rates start at 10 rooms a night.
Before you book
Confirm the Sunday night. Price the entries you will make. Load the pass to a wallet. Check the show rate against the published $15. The room and the lot are the two costs the show does not quote, and both are settled before you leave.
