Two Festival Days Fix Two Nights
Portola Music Festival ran Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September 2026 at Pier 80 in San Francisco. Venue doors opened at 1 p.m. PT both days and the curfew was 11 p.m. PT. Admission is 21 and over, and entry requires a physical, valid government-issued photo ID.
A Saturday and a Sunday with an afternoon gate and a late curfew fix a two-night stay: the nights of 26 and 27 September, with a Monday 28 September checkout. Every 2026 pass tier is sold out, so the shape of the weekend carries into the next edition.
The Gate Sets The Arrival
A 1 p.m. door leaves the morning for travel. No early-entry window needs protecting, so the two nights sit on the festival nights themselves.
The 11 p.m. curfew sets the other end. Both nights end at the venue, and a Monday checkout follows the second curfew.
What The Sold-Out State Leaves To Time
The 2026 tiers are gone. The organiser listed 2-Day GA from $399.95, Saturday GA from $269.95, Sunday GA from $299.50, 2-Day VIP from $779.50 and single-day VIP at $459.95. The four-packs were priced per pass, $399.95 for GA and $699.95 for VIP. Every row on the passes page carries the label Sold Out.
Three rules from the same page shape the hotel decision. The limit is eight passes per household. All sales are final, with no refunds, cancellations or exchanges. A two-day pass cannot be shared, and the name on the original order cannot be changed.
What To Hold Back Once The Primary Market Closes
The sanctioned route to a pass you do not already hold is the transfer feature in the Portola Mobile App or the AXS Mobile App. The organiser turns transfers on within 72 hours of the festival, possibly sooner, and the recipient needs a Portola FanAccount.
Two mechanics make that window tight. Passes are AXS Mobile ID, and the QR code refreshes every 60 seconds, so screenshots and printed copies do not scan. The organiser's passes page states that it will not service, authenticate or support passes bought from a third party or a scalper.
That is the piece to hold back. A non-refundable room committed before the pass is confirmed carries the whole risk of a sale that cannot be reversed. Hold the room on a flexible rate until a transferable pass sits in the AXS account, then decide whether to convert the rate.
Getting To Pier 80 Without A Car
The organiser publishes one parking rule: none at Pier 80, and no driving to the event. The main entrance is at 900 Marin Street, San Francisco, CA 94124. A free shuttle loops between Pier 80 and the 24th Street Mission BART Station from 12:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The Muni T Third line stops at Third/Marin, one block from the venue.
Pick a property on that corridor. Our directory lists Harbor Court Hotel, 165 Steuart Street, four stars, and 1 Hotel San Francisco, 8 Mission Street, five stars. On the downtown side it lists San Francisco Marriott Marquis at 780 Mission Street and W San Francisco at 181 3rd Street, both four stars.
The Rules That Carry To The Next Edition
Admission is 21 and over, and expired ID or a digital ID will not be accepted at entry. The festival is cashless, and every pass includes a $2 sustainability fee.
Set the hotel dates from the doors and the curfew, hold the room on movable terms until the pass is confirmed, and treat the transfer window as the deadline that decides the trip.
