The 2026 line-up names Marlon James, Joyce Carol Oates, Namwali Serpell, Douglas Stuart, Colson Whitehead, Tracy K. Smith, Cristina Rivera Garza and Julia Angwin. The festival calls itself New York City's largest free literary festival. It dates its launch to 2006 as a one-day event.
Where Festival Day sits
The venues cluster inside Downtown Brooklyn. Festival Day runs at Brooklyn Borough Hall, Brooklyn Law School, the Center for Brooklyn History, St. Ann and the Holy Trinity Church, Columbus Park and Korean War Veterans Park.
