Nine days of art week, one four-night anchor
FOG Design+Art opens at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture on Thursday, January 21, 2027, and closes Sunday, January 24. The fair runs across Piers 2 and 3. The week starts before the fair does. The Preview Gala, the fair's fundraiser for SFMOMA, takes Wednesday, January 20, from 4 to 10 p.m. with tiered entry.
San Francisco Art Week surrounds both, running January 16 to 24 in its fourth edition. That is a nine-day frame, and the desk should sell one block inside it: Wednesday, January 20 through a Sunday, January 24 checkout. Four nights on the Fort Mason side of town.
The three clocks that set the block
The gala runs Wednesday, January 20, 4 to 10 p.m., and entry is tiered by ticket level. It is the one event of the week at Fort Mason that starts before the fair.
The fair publishes its own door hours. Thursday, January 21 through Saturday, January 23 run 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, January 24 runs 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A desk quoting a late Sunday checkout has a 5 p.m. close to work from.
SF Art Week opens Saturday, January 16 and runs through Sunday, January 24. A guest in town for the whole art week is booking six nights before the gala. A guest in for the gala and the fair is booking four.
What a gala ticket covers, and where it stops
The SFMOMA event page lists six routes in. Titanium Circle is $25,000 for ten tickets with entry from 4 p.m.; Platinum Circle $12,000 for six tickets from 4 p.m.; Gold Circle $6,000 for four tickets from 4:30 p.m.; Silver Circle $3,000 for two tickets from 5 p.m.; Bronze Circle $1,200 for two tickets from 6 p.m.; and Supporter tickets at $300 each with entry from 7 to 10 p.m.
Three terms decide what the guest is buying. Bronze level and above receive multiday access to the fair; Supporter level receives single-day access. Circle packages carry complimentary valet parking, and the Supporter ticket carries complimentary shuttle service. Every gala guest must be 21 or older, all sales are final, and tickets are nonrefundable.
The page publishes its own tax-deductible split for each package, from $225 on a Supporter ticket to $24,000 on a Titanium package. It also states that Donor Advised Funds cannot pay any portion of a ticket whose full price is not tax deductible. Gala questions go to fogpreviewgala@sfmoma.org or 415.618.3263.
The FOG Pavilion and FOG FOCUS
The fair's press release is dated 15 October 2026 and puts the 2027 edition at more than 75 leading international art and design galleries. The release carries 50 exhibitors in the FOG Pavilion and 26 curated presentations in FOG FOCUS, which extends onto a second story for the first time.
The fair's exhibitors page is headed 2027 Exhibitors and lists both venues. The release names 15 galleries presenting for the first time, among them ATLA, DEN, Fair Warning, Hoffman Donahue, GALERIE 1900-2000, LAMB, Mariposa, Matthew Brown, Moderne Gallery, Parker Gallery, P.P.O.W, Taka Ishii Gallery, Thomas Dane Gallery and VeneKlasen.
The release also prices the fair. Single-day tickets are $40 in advance and $45 after January 20, 2027, and four-day passes are $115 in advance and $120 after the same date. Senior tickets run $35 and $40, student tickets are $5, and children 12 and under enter free. Tickets go on sale online in mid-November and at the door.
FOG Talks is the second programme to watch. The release states the series moves to the Cowell Theater inside FOG FOCUS. The 2027 lineup arrives in mid-November, and the 2026 talks stay viewable online until then.
The Fort Mason corridor in our own directory
hotelhuddle's San Francisco directory holds 26 records in the 94123 ZIP that covers the Fort Mason and Marina corridor. Eleven sit inside one kilometre of the fair's own pinned location, measured straight-line from the coordinates on the fair's site rather than walked.
Town House Motel — 1650 Lombard Street, 94123, 764 metres.
Redwood Inn — 1530 Lombard Street, 94123, 789 metres.
Travelodge by Wyndham San Francisco Bay — 1450 Lombard Street, 94123, 804 metres.
Buena Vista Motor Inn — 1599 Lombard Street, 94123, 835 metres.
Star Motel — 1727 Lombard Street, 94123, 848 metres.

None of them publishes a nightly rate, and FOG publishes no room block, no code and no rate for the week. Price the corridor from the property, and treat those distances as the argument for the Marina side of town rather than as a quoted walk time.
Parking, transit and the overnight rule
Fort Mason Center's own directions page states the main campus entrance is off Marina Blvd at Buchanan Street, and that the campus is served by Muni lines 28, 30, 30X, 43 and 49, with Golden Gate Transit stopping at Lombard and Fillmore.
The same page carries the term that decides the booking. Overnight parking is not permitted on campus, and fees are in effect from 7 a.m. to midnight daily, with event-day rates stepping from $6 for up to an hour to $12, $18 and $24 for the next bands and $30 for four hours or more. A guest who drives in leaves the car at the property, so the hotel's own lot or garage belongs in the quote.
What to confirm before holding the four nights
Ask the guest whether the gala ticket is Supporter level, which covers one day of the fair, or Circle level, which covers all four. Ask the property for its own cancellation window on the January 20 to 24 dates, because neither the fair nor the corridor publishes a rate or a policy.
Four nights, one Wednesday gala, one Thursday-to-Sunday fair, and a transit corridor that runs past the entrance. That is the January 2027 package for the Fort Mason side of town.
