The stay pattern
The Food Northwest Process & Packaging Expo runs Wednesday January 13 and Thursday January 14, 2027, in Hall A at the Oregon Convention Center. Price the trip as one pattern: check in Sunday January 10, check out Thursday January 14. That is four nights, and it covers both move-in days and both show days in one reservation.
Move-in sits two days before the floor opens
The organizer publishes the schedule in the 2027 Exhibitor Prospectus. Move-in runs January 11 and 12, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Move-out runs January 14 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and January 15 from 8 a.m. to noon. Exhibit hall hours are January 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and January 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A Monday 8 a.m. move-in slot needs a Sunday night in Portland. The Sunday and Monday nights carry the setup. The Tuesday and Wednesday nights carry the show.
An exhibitor who dismantles on Thursday should read the 3 p.m. hall close against the 3 p.m. move-out start. Keep the Thursday night if the booth comes down that afternoon. Drop it if the crew finishes Friday morning.
The host hotel and the December 18 cut-off
The organizer names the Hyatt Regency Portland at 375 NE Holladay Street as the host hotel, a Gold LEED certified property in the Lloyd District. The hotel page reads: make the reservation before December 18, 2026 to secure the special room rates. The page publishes no rate.
Treat December 18 as the last day the block is priced and hold inventory before it. Ask for all four nights in one confirmation, and ask what happens to the rate on a night the block cannot cover.
Alternatives within a walk of 777 NE Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, measured as the driving route: Hotel Eastlund, 1021 NE Grand Avenue, 0.4 mile; Hyatt Regency Portland, 375 NE Holladay Street, 0.55 mile; Inn at the Convention Center, 420 NE Holladay Street, 0.5 mile; Motel 6, 518 NE Holladay Street, 0.4 mile; Courtyard by Marriott Portland Downtown/Convention Center, 435 NE Wasco Street, 0.55 mile; DoubleTree by Hilton Portland, 1000 NE Multnomah Street, 0.7 mile.
Admission does not filter the room demand
The organizer publishes three admission lines: $49 for a food or beverage processor with validation required, $79 for a supplier member and $149 for a non-member supplier. The opening reception happy hour is $49. Registration closes January 14, 2027.
The exhibit hall runs 60,000 square feet. The prospectus states that the expo returns to January in 2027 and cites historically higher January attendance. Book the corridor early for those four nights.
Parking is a nightly cost
The OCC garage charges $15 for up to 18 hours at the standard daily rate and $15 to $25 at entry during events. It opens at 6 a.m. daily and holds 800 spaces. Overnight parking is prohibited, so the garage covers days and the hotel covers nights.
Four days at the published band come to $60 to $100. Price the hotel's parking charge against that range and ask whether the room rate includes parking. Put the answer in the confirmation. Clearance is 7 feet on P1 and 9 feet on P2, the booths take cards only, and 566 metered spaces sit within three blocks for short stops.
Transit covers the airport
TriMet MAX stops 300 times a day near the front door. The Convention Center station sits at NE Holladay and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, opposite the entrance, and the airport is eight miles out. The adult fare is $2.80 for 2½ hours, and riding is free after $5.60 in a day.
Two agreements on one trip
Ask the hotel for the last date to cancel without penalty, whether the penalty is one night or the full stay, whether the rate is prepaid and non-refundable, and whether names can be substituted. Put the answers in the confirmation email.
The organizer runs a separate rule on booths: a non-refundable deposit of 25 percent of the total at reservation. That rule governs the booth. The hotel agreement is read on its own terms.
Four nights, Sunday January 10 through Thursday January 14, booked before December 18, 2026, with parking priced against $15 to $25 a day and a cancellation window in writing.
