Two days to the cut-off

Microsoft Ignite 2026 runs November 17 to 20 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, with an optional pre-day on November 16. The hotel window closes before the registration window does, and it closes this week.

The organiser’s own answer to “What is the hotel cut-off date?” reads: “Hotel reservations secured through the Microsoft Ignite registration page must be booked by 3:00 PM Pacific Time on Friday, October 16, 2026. Availability is limited, so early booking is recommended.”

That is two days out. The route to the block is the registration record. The FAQ answer to “How can I reserve a hotel?” is one sentence: “Log in to your registration to submit a request for a room at your preferred hotel.” Attendees must register individually, so a colleague cannot open the door for someone else.

One date, two deadlines

Two different clocks land on October 16. Rooms close at 3:00 PM Pacific. Cancellations close at 11:59 PM Pacific on the same day, and the policy behind them is the organiser’s: “Cancellation requests must be received by Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Conference or Hub-only passes canceled on or before this date are eligible for a refund, minus a $200 processing fee.”

Those two clocks sit just under nine hours apart inside one date. Read them together before paying: the room request expires first, and the refund that would clean up a withdrawn registration expires later the same night.

Registration itself stays open longer. In-person registration closes at 5:00 PM Pacific on Friday, November 13, 2026, and transfers close at the same hour. The FAQ states plainly that no bundle pricing offers are available, so passes price one at a time.

The block is gated by a pass the pass list does not carry

The FAQ ties the room block to one product: “By purchasing the Advantage pass, attendees gain exclusive access to book within a dedicated hotel block at the Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa, Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SoMa, Palace Hotel, and San Francisco Marriott Marquis. Hotel booking access is limited to these four properties.”

The Passes tab on the home page sells three passes and names none of them Advantage: Conference pass at $2,325, Hub-only pass at $1,625, and Digital pass free. The Passes tab carries no mention of an Advantage pass. The word appears twice across the pages read for this piece, both times inside that one FAQ answer.

The pass decides who can hold a room, so settle it before the cut-off. Ask the registration desk at ignite@microsoft.regsvc.com which pass carries the block, what the Advantage pass costs, and whether the block terms follow a Conference or Hub-only purchase.

The four properties, and how far they sit from the hall

All four block properties are in the hotelhuddle directory with a street address, a postal code and a star rating. These are straight-line distances from the Moscone Center at 3rd Street: Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa, 250 4th Street, 94103, four stars, 305 metres; San Francisco Marriott Marquis, 780 Mission Street, 94103, four stars, 323 metres; Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SOMA, 50 3rd Street, 94103, four stars, 330 metres; Palace Hotel, 2 New Montgomery Street, 94105, five stars, 422 metres.

Three of the four sit inside 94103. None of the four publishes a nightly rate, a room count or a check-in hour on the organiser’s site or in the hotelhuddle directory, so the rate and the arrival hour are questions for the registration desk or the property.

The nights the programme demands

The page sets the span: in-person programming runs November 17 to 20, and the pre-day runs November 16. The agenda runs Monday to Friday and carries its own caveat, “Times are subject to change.”

On the agenda’s own clock, Monday’s pre-day sessions and badge pick-up occupy the afternoon, Tuesday opens with the opening keynote at 10:00 AM Pacific, and Friday closes with a sessions, labs and certifications block that runs 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM Pacific.

That Friday 12:30 PM finish fixes the checkout. A delegate attending the main programme books Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights against a Friday release, three nights in total. Adding the Monday pre-day makes it four nights, November 16 through 19, against the same Friday checkout.

If the block is gone before Friday afternoon

The open market around the Moscone Center is our own inventory. Intercontinental San Francisco sits at 888 Howard Street, 94103, four stars, 469 metres from the hall on the same straight-line measure, and it is not one of the four block properties.

A group booking can go around the block entirely. A hotelhuddle request goes to 50 or more hotels in the destination at once, hotels respond in 24 to 72 hours, the submission is free, and the traveller pays the property directly with no markup added to the rate. Group rates begin at 10 rooms per night at most properties, and some discount from five.

The front-desk script

Four questions cover the week. Which pass carries the four-property block, and what does it cost? What is the nightly rate and the room type inside the block, in writing? What is the cancellation deadline for the room itself, as distinct from the pass deadline on October 16? And what is the total with taxes and fees, since no published figure exists to compare against?

The FAQ carries one standing note worth heeding before the cut-off: “Check back frequently. This FAQ page will be updated as new information becomes available.”
