IMTC 2027 Housing: Six Named Hotels, Three Priced

MCI USA is the only housing provider the International Mass Timber Conference sanctions for March 2027. The organiser's FAQ names six official hotels. The reservation site behind the Book Your Room button lists and prices three of them.

The conference runs March 16 to 19, 2027, Tuesday to Friday, at the Oregon Convention Center. The venue's own listing reads March 17 to 20 in Halls A-A1-B-C-D-E at 777 NE Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Both spans run four days and they disagree. The organiser's agenda, airfare page and footer print March 16-19. Book that span and confirm the hall with the venue.

Six named hotels, three priced

The FAQ names Hotel Eastlund and the Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center as headquarters hotels. It lists the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Portland, the Courtyard Portland Downtown/Convention Center, the Crowne Plaza Portland-Downtown Convention Center and CASCADE as the other official discounted properties.

The Passkey list prices three. The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Portland, 1000 NE Multnomah Street, starts at $189 a night and sits 0.46 miles from the hall. Hotel Eastlund, BW Premier Collection, 1021 NE Grand Avenue, starts at $249 and sits 0.17 miles out. The Hyatt Regency, 375 NE Holladay Street, starts at $249 and sits 0.18 miles out.

Two of the three sit a four minute walk from the doors. The Courtyard on NE Wasco Street, the Crowne Plaza on NE 2nd Avenue and CASCADE carry no listing on the reservation site as of October 20, 2026.

What the housing page promises

MCI USA publishes four terms on that list. Changes carry no fee or penalty. A deposit returns when a cancellation lands inside the hotel's own guidelines. A call centre answers before arrival, and staff sit on site during the show.

Each listed hotel page carries a 72-hour cancellation term. A guaranteed reservation cancelled inside 72 hours of arrival is charged one night's room and tax.

The organiser's own pages disagree on availability. The hotels page reads “Official IMTC hotel blocks are now open.” The FAQ two clicks away answers the booking question with “Booking at the Official Reservations Site Available Soon.” The rate and the deadline below are the ones in force on the site.

The sub-block rate and its deadline

One figure appears outside the retail path. The 10-plus room sub-block form lists the Hyatt Regency at $249 per night plus tax, carries a request deadline of Friday, January 29, 2027, and routes questions to IMTC Housing on 972-349-5453 or IMTC@jade.mcievents.com.

A sub-block is a group booking. A single attendee reserving one room sees the starting rate on the list, so ask the housing desk whether one reservation can be held at $249 across the full stay.

Portland's tax line

Portland's lodging tax runs at 13 percent through December 31, 2026. From January 1, 2027 the rate is 14.25 percent, and the increase adds $1.25 to each $100 of room rate. The city's Tourism Improvement District adds a 3 percent fee on overnight hotel stays.

The housing pages print the current figure for each hotel. The Hyatt Regency and Hotel Eastlund pages read 16 percent, which matches the 13 percent city rate plus the district fee. The DoubleTree page reads 16.57 percent.

At the $249 starting rate and the 2027 rate of 17.25 percent, one night comes to $291.95. Three nights come to $875.85 and four nights to $1,167.80. Parking and breakfast sit outside those totals.

Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday: the night arithmetic

The agenda fixes the nights. Tuesday March 16 runs Mass Timber Building Tours from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and exhibitor move-in from 8:00 a.m. Wednesday opens with Boot Camp at 9:00 a.m. Friday closes with the exhibit hall open 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and move-out starting at 1:01 p.m.

An arrival on Monday the 15th with a Friday the 19th checkout is four nights and covers the tours and the full conference. A Tuesday the 16th arrival with the same checkout is three nights and covers Wednesday to Friday. A Thursday the 18th arrival is one night and covers Friday alone. The tour pass is $350 and carries no badge, so the Monday night has to be added deliberately.

The pass ladder sets the commitment. A Full Pass for the general attendee is $997.50 for Wednesday to Friday, with one-day passes at $700, $825 and $450. Three or more passes on one company order take a further 10 percent off each. The early-bird offer takes 30 percent off selected passes.

Parking, and the garage that closes overnight

The convention center garage holds 800 spaces, opens at 6:00 a.m., charges $15 for up to 18 hours and moves to a dynamic $15 to $25 during events. Overnight parking is prohibited and availability runs first come, first served. There are 566 metered spaces within three blocks.

The Hyatt Regency sells self-parking at $35 a night and valet at $45, with in-and-out privilege on both.

Three questions to put in writing

Ask for the nightly rate with the tax line stated separately. Ask for the hotel's own cancellation deadline and the penalty that applies after it, because the organiser defers to those guidelines. Ask whether single, non-sequential nights can be booked inside the block.

The order to book in

Register first. The early-bird discount is dated and the pass size sets the nights. Book the room through the MCI USA link second. Put the questions to the housing desk before you authorise a deposit. Add the Tuesday tour last, once the Monday night is held.
