Jump Dance Convention runs Friday 5 March to Sunday 7 March 2027 in the Oregon Ballroom at the Oregon Convention Center. The organiser posted an update on 9 October 2026: the competition is sold out, and a waitlist runs through info@jumptour.com. The workshop stays open, and the room plan follows the ticket a family holds.

What the Organiser Publishes About Rooms

The Portland page names one hotel. Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center, 375 NE Holladay Street, at a room rate of $219 single or double. The page carries a Book a Room link into Hyatt's group booking system. The rate and the remaining inventory sit behind that link, so ask the property for the group rate and the release date in writing.

Starpower runs the same hall on the same weekend and publishes the same property at $219 with a release date of 11 February 2027. That figure is the reference rate for the weekend across both events.

The Night Count Follows the Ticket

A full-weekend registration needs Friday and Saturday nights, with a Sunday checkout. A one-day workshop registration needs one night: Saturday, for a Sunday class day.

Jump sells the one-day workshop for Saturday or Sunday, and recommends Saturday because the Sunday classes continue Saturday's material. A dancer entered in competition must register for the full weekend. One-day participants take no scholarship.

The Dates That Protect the Room

Jump publishes an early registration deadline of 3 February 2027 and a payment deadline of the same date. Registration carries a $50 deposit per routine. That deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to another city. A studio that removes a routine before the 30-day deadline can move the deposit to the balance for this city.

Entry limits scale with the size of the workshop group. Five to 15 dancers carry 30 routines and 10 solos. Sixteen to 40 carry 40 routines and 15 solos. Forty-one to 50 carry 45 routines and 17 solos. Fifty-one to 69 carry 50 routines and 20 solos. Studios above 70 dancers email the organiser.

The order that works: confirm the routine list, pay the balance by 3 February, then commit the rooms. A family that books first pays for a night the routine count may not need.

Where the Garage Changes the Shortlist

The venue garage holds 800 spaces and charges a dynamic $15 to $25 at entry on event days. The standard rate is $15 for up to 18 hours with no in-and-out privilege. The garage opens at 6:00 a.m., bans overnight parking and takes cards at the booth.

A family driving in each morning pays that entry twice across a two-night stay, and the car cannot stay in the garage overnight. A family on rail pays $2.80 for a 2½-hour adult ticket, and TriMet stops charging at $5.60 in a day. MAX light rail stops 300 times a day beside the centre's front door.

Families travelling by MAX need a property within walking distance of a stop. Families driving need a property with overnight parking and a quoted rate for it.

Five Properties, Measured

Distances are straight-line from the venue address at 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, computed from geocoded street addresses. Hyatt Regency Portland, 375 NE Holladay Street: 360 m. Hotel Eastlund, 1021 NE Grand Avenue: 370 m. Courtyard Portland Downtown/Convention Center, 435 NE Wasco Street: 600 m. Crowne Plaza, 1441 NE 2nd Avenue: 720 m. DoubleTree by Hilton Portland, 1000 NE Multnomah Street: 830 m.

One Request, Fifty-Plus Hotels

hotelhuddle sends a single request to 50 or more hotels in Portland. Hotels answer in 24 to 72 hours with group rates and terms. The service adds no markup, the guest pays the property directly, and submitting costs nothing. Group rates start at 10 rooms a night, and some properties quote from five.

A studio holding 20 families across two nights has the volume to ask. A family booking one Saturday night does not, and the published $219 is the cleaner comparison.

What to Get in Writing

Ask for the release date first. Then the cancellation deadline on both nights, the parking charge with overnight permission, and the nightly gap between the flexible and the non-refundable rate. A rate that expires in January cannot serve a family that decides in February.
