MariTrends 2027: the $299 block closes 30 December

Two hotels, one rate, one cut-off

The Passenger Vessel Association holds its annual convention and the MariTrends trade show on 21-24 January 2027. Two downtown Tampa hotels carry the official rate of $299 a night. Both stop selling it on 30 December 2026.

The properties are the Tampa Marriott Water Street at 505 Water Street and the Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Downtown Convention Center at 513 S. Florida Avenue. Each PVA hotel entry carries one condition: rooms sell at the discounted rate until the cut-off date, or until the block sells out.

The venue and the hours

The convention runs at the Tampa Convention Center, 333 S. Franklin Street. The City of Tampa lists the West Exhibit Hall and the meeting rooms, with floor hours from 8 a.m. on Friday 22 January to 3 p.m. on Sunday 24 January.

PVA opens the programme on Thursday 21 January with education sessions at 9 a.m. and the opening general session at 1 p.m. Sunday closes with Passenger Vessel Operators Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the board meeting from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Book the three nights the programme needs

Check in Thursday 21 January and check out Sunday 24 January. Three nights covers the convention from the first education session to the last board remark.

Add Wednesday 20 January for the Katica Klassic Memorial Golf Tournament at 9 a.m., the committee meetings from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or the welcome reception from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The published programme opens that Wednesday. Four nights then.

Book the Sunday night. Operators Day runs to 3 p.m. and the board meets to 4:30 p.m. A midday departure on 24 January leaves both behind.

Register before you book

Vessel member registration and government registration both cost $985. Both rise to $1,085 on 21 December 2026, nine days before the room cut-off.

Exhibit booth staff registration costs $575 and requires a booth. Associate member registration without a booth costs $2,195. A spouse or guest pass costs $575.

Register first, then book the room. The registration price moves on 21 December. The room rate holds to 30 December.

Pick the property that fits the day

The Marriott sits beside the convention centre and runs the MariTrends Welcome Reception and the evening gatherings. The Embassy Suites connects to the centre by skybridge. Every Embassy unit is a suite with separate living and sleeping areas, cooked-to-order breakfast each morning and an evening reception with drinks and snacks.

Saturday 23 January runs long. The exhibit hall opens 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Captain's Call competition reception runs 3 to 5 p.m., exhibitor move-out starts at 5 p.m. and the Emerging Leaders Reception runs 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday carries the gala dinner from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The skybridge takes the street crossing and the weather out of the walk back. The Marriott puts the reception and the meetings in one building. Both carry $299.

Cancelling costs $100

PVA accepts cancellations in writing only. A $100 administrative fee applies to each one, and the association grants no cancellation after 1 January 2027.

Ask each hotel for its room cancellation deadline and penalty in writing at booking. The association's registration terms and the property's room terms form two separate contracts.

Hold a refundable backup

Reserve the $299 room, then hold a second reservation nearby on a fully refundable rate. Diarise the backup's free-cancellation date. Release the backup before that date at no cost if the block closes or the plan changes.

Open the rate description on the backup before you reserve. The free-cancellation date and the penalty sit in that description.

Book through PVA's own page

PVA warns that members have been approached by companies selling MariTrends rooms the association has not sanctioned, at rates it has not verified, in hotels that may not exist. PVA states that it does not telemarket hotel rooms and does not call attendees with discounted deals. Reserve through the Book Reservations links on the PVA hotel information page. Report approaches to Tamara Callabro at Tcallabro@passengervessel.com.

Put three lines in the confirmation

Ask for the $299 rate printed on the confirmation, the date the hotel releases the block, and the cancellation deadline with its penalty. The block can close before 30 December without notice.

Tampa International Airport sits about 9 miles from both properties and from the convention centre. The TECO Line Streetcar runs free between downtown, the Channel District and Ybor City.

A team booking sends one brief through hotelHuddle's request form to 50+ hotels in the destination city. Submitting is free, responses arrive within 24-72 hours, and the rate you pay the hotel carries no markup.
