The NW Martial Arts Festival 2026 runs on Saturday, November 7, in Hall A at the Oregon Convention Center, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The U.S. World Class Taekwondo Association holds its 2026 Fall Black Belt Graduation the next morning at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Airport, 7900 NE 82nd Ave. Candidates report by 8:45 a.m. The two addresses sit 8.6 km apart in a straight line, and the drive routes at 10.5 km. Book the Saturday night, then pick the door your room sits closest to.
The organiser publishes no room block
The championships outline carries one hotel line: "Many hotels are available next to Oregon Convention Center. Please visit www.Expedia.com." The document carries no rate, no group code and no cut-off date. The venue page repeats Hall A, registration required and 503.772.8000, and adds nothing about lodging.
Two venues on one weekend
The convention center sits at 777 NE Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. The graduation hotel sits at 7900 NE 82nd Ave. One booking cannot serve both doors, so the choice decides the Sunday morning.
Saturday night in the Lloyd District
A Lloyd District room puts the festival floor inside walking distance. Straight-line distances from the venue door to the seven closest properties: Inn at the Convention Center 0.32 km, Motel 6 0.35 km, Hyatt Regency 0.36 km, Hotel Eastlund 0.37 km, Quality Inn Downtown Convention Center 0.53 km, Courtyard 0.60 km and DoubleTree 0.69 km.
MAX light rail stops 300 times a day near the venue front door. The Sunday leg to the airport hotel runs 10.5 km by road.
Saturday night at Cascade Station
Some families put the 8:45 a.m. Sunday report first. The room then belongs at Cascade Station, beside the airport. Straight-line distances from the graduation hotel: Holiday Inn Express, 9189 NE Cascades Pkwy, 0.72 km; Residence Inn, 9301 NE Cascades Pkwy, 0.88 km; Hyatt Place, 9750 NE Cascades Pkwy, 1.18 km; Aloft, 9920 NE Cascades Pkwy, 1.33 km.
The trade is Saturday morning, when an 8:00 a.m. start needs the 10.5 km run back to the venue.
Two nights, or one
Friday November 6 and Saturday November 7, with a Sunday checkout, cover both days. The Saturday alone covers the graduation morning. A Sunday night adds nothing, because the graduation ends at 3:00 p.m. Checkout is the open hour. The capstone runs 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., spectator admission starts at 12:45 p.m., and the graduation runs 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A morning checkout strands the bags unless the property stores them.
The weekend cost before the room
Competitor entry is $130 for one event and $60 for each additional event, paid online by October 24 to avoid the $50 late fee that starts on October 25. Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. PST on October 30, and the outline states there are no refunds. A coach pass costs $100 by October 24 and $150 from October 25 or at the venue, cash only. Spectator admission is $20, cash only, and valid on November 7 alone. Break boards cost $5 each, cash only, bought at the venue.
The ring schedule lands on November 2
The outline states that the final tournament schedule is released on November 2 on the association's Facebook page. Until then a competitor knows the 8:00 a.m. building window and nothing finer. A first-ring assignment makes a Saturday-morning arrival a risk.
The Saturday night carries two shows
The venue calendar lists the Oddities and Curiosities Expo 2026 in Halls C-D-E on November 7 and 8, beside this festival in Hall A, and the 2027 HBA Housing Forecast Breakfast in the Portland Ballroom on November 6. Take a cancellable rate and get the cancellation window in writing.
The garage if you drive
The underground garage holds 800 spaces and charges $15 for up to 18 hours with no in-and-out privileges, or a dynamic $15 to $25 at entry during events. It opens at 6:00 a.m., prohibits overnight parking, and takes cards and touchless payment at the booth. The overnight rule settles the plan. The car stays at the property and pays the event rate on the morning it is needed.
The booking order
Confirm which venue each traveller must reach first. Hold a cancellable Lloyd District room for Friday and Saturday, or a Cascade Station room where the Sunday report time governs. Ask the property to state its checkout hour and its bag storage arrangement in writing. Register the competitor before October 24. A party of 10 or more can put the block through bookMyTeam, and hotelSlots lists day rooms near the venue.
