The 50th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade falls on Monday, January 18, 2027. The committee describes the route along NW 54th Street in Liberty City, Miami. Its event pages carry the date, the theme and the registration close. They carry no hotel block, no host property and no nightly rate. The holiday fixes the nights
January 18 is a Monday. A Saturday-to-Monday stay checks out on parade morning. A Sunday-to-Tuesday stay keeps the room through the parade and the evening after it.
Both shapes are two nights. One puts a bed behind you on parade day. Decide which you want before you name a check-in date, because the two requests draw different answers from the same hotel.
What the committee publishes
The parade began in 1977 and the committee bills the 2027 edition as its fiftieth. The theme is "Highlighting The Dream." Participation rules limit each agency to six approved vehicles, and undecorated commercial vehicles are refused entry. Registration runs through the parade page and closes November 9, 2026.
The About page describes the route through Liberty City and a family festival at Martin Luther King Memorial Park, and states that WPLG Channel 10 covers the parade live for two hours. It also claims the largest MLK parade in the nation, tens of thousands of spectators and more than two million viewers across broadcast and digital channels. Those are the committee's own figures.
What the pages do not carry: a staging list with addresses, a host hotel, a room block or a rate. Across the parade, registration, map, about and news pages, the site names no lodging partner.
November 9 is the demand signal
Registration closes November 9, 2026. That is the date the committee learns how many bands, floats, ministries and civic groups are marching, and every entry carries people who need a bed for the Sunday or the Monday night.
Before November 9, hotels have not yet seen the group demand. After it, the same request competes against groups that have just learned their own numbers. Send the request before the close, and ask what the property will hold and for how long.
Four terms to ask for in writing
No source publishes a parade rate, so the negotiation is over terms. Ask for the minimum length of stay across January 16 to 19. Ask for the cancellation deadline and whether it differs for the holiday Monday. Ask whether the Monday night prices as a weekend or a weekday. Ask whether a two-night stay beginning Sunday carries the same group terms as one beginning Saturday.
The platform's own limit

What to put in the request
Name the nights you intend to sleep, not the dates of the events. State the room mix. Say whether the group needs car or bus parking. Ask for the cancellation deadline in writing. Ask which night of the stay the property treats as its peak, and make the answer part of the terms.
The parade date is fixed. The room terms are open.
