The Molten Florida Pre-Qualifier runs 26 to 28 February 2027 at the Tampa Convention Center, 333 S. Franklin St. The City of Tampa record lists 8 a.m. Saturday 27 February to 7 p.m. Sunday 28 February. JVC Tournaments publishes a longer span, 26 to 28 February, and its 14-18 Open and 14-17 USA divisions start no earlier than 2:30 p.m. Friday.
The tournament hotel block opened at 2 p.m. EST on 16 October. A club cannot reserve until its entry fee is paid.
The order the organiser publishes
JVC sets out six steps on its Molten FL Pre-Q hotel page, under the heading "How to Book the Tournament Hotel Block through THS". Register for the event on OttoEvent. Pay the entry fee by check or credit card. Make hotel reservations for your team through THS. Encourage your team parents to book through THS. Accept the hotel contract you receive from THS. Receive your acceptance notice from the tournament.
The note under the booking step costs clubs rooms. The club must be registered and paid before it can book hotel rooms. An unpaid entry fee stops the block at the first step.
What the 60-mile rule requires
Every club residing more than 60 miles from the playing venue must secure at least 10 hotel room-nights per team through THS to be accepted. Five rooms for two nights meets that figure exactly. Four rooms for three nights clears it.
The requirement sits inside a policy the organiser dates to 2011, Stay, Play and Save. Each team books through THS at an approved JVC hotel to stay eligible. JVC and THS generate the list, and block rates carry a rebate the tournament applies to facility costs. THS states that its rate integrity checks exclude single and king rooms, employee, government, AAA and AARP rates.
What the portal shows on 21 October
The block runs 25 to 28 February 2027. The portal lists 36 properties. Twenty-seven carry a starting nightly rate, from $179 to $339. Nine read Sold Out for the block nights, and the two closest to the hall sit in that group, at 302 feet and 0.1 miles.
The nearest published rates are $336 at Embassy Suites Downtown Convention Center, 0.1 miles out, $325 at Hilton Tampa Downtown, 0.4 miles, and $339 at Aloft Tampa Downtown, 0.6 miles. The $179 low is Fairfield Inn & Suites Tampa North, 15.6 miles away. The portal caps a team at 15 rooms and sends a club that needs more to customer support at (908) 979-0928.
THS sets the cut-off per property. Its support page states that the rate guarantee runs until the contracted cut-off, about 30 days before arrival. Ask each property for that date in writing.
Accept the contract, then wait
Step five is a contract THS sends. Step six is the tournament's answer. The contract carries the terms the hotel page leaves out: the deposit, the cancellation deadline and the penalty behind it. Read it before the block window closes. JVC routes any problem with THS to its own tournament contact.
Where JVC Loyalty shortcuts the second trip
The JVC Loyalty Program pre-books prime hotel blocks for the season's largest Florida events before general booking opens. The 2026-27 list names the Molten FL Pre-Qualifier, presented by NIKE, alongside eight other tournaments. For a club that already knows it will return, the program replaces the 16 October scramble with an earlier, smaller booking.
The loyalty rules are tighter than the general block. Register the teams on OttoEvent and pay their entry fees. Block 5 to 15 rooms per team. Book at least 3 nights for a 3-day event and 2 nights for a 2-day event, with no exceptions. Guarantee 90 percent of the room nights requested, then cure any deficit or pay $50 per room-night short of the guarantee. An unpaid penalty removes the team from the event. Only rooms booked through the JVC Loyalty block count toward the 90 percent. The signed contract goes back within 24 hours of receipt, and an agreement can transfer between teams inside the same club.
Two limits decide whether the route is open. Applications closed at 3 p.m. EDT on 24 September, so the window has passed for this cycle. A loyalty block also requires the entry fee, so the program compresses the calendar without removing the payment gate.
The nights the block covers
Book Friday 26 and Saturday 27 February. That covers the Saturday and Sunday play the city record states and leaves Sunday's 7 p.m. finish with the car loaded. The block window opens Thursday 25 February, so a Thursday night sits inside it.
The exceptions, and who answers the phone
A club holding a signed hotel contract can email THS a copy, and THS will try to fold those rooms into the approved list. A local team that needs no rooms, or one staying in a house or with family, contacts AJ Joseph at AJ@jvctournaments.com or 719-201-7323 and names the event.
hotelhuddle.com cannot process a booking request from or for travel to Florida. The seller of travel page, last updated 21 October 2026, names Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington and cites Chapter 559 of the Florida Statutes. A Tampa block runs through THS and the property.
