Photonics West 2027: 45 Hotels From $149 and a January 25 Close

The housing site closes on January 25

SPIE Photonics West 2027 runs Saturday, January 30 to Thursday, February 4 at Moscone North, South and West. ConferenceDirect is SPIE's official housing bureau for the week, and it publishes the terms a booking desk needs before it quotes a room.

The housing website closes on Monday, January 25, 2027. The bureau states that hotel closing dates may vary by hotel. A desk working a January arrival has that date and no later one.

The $50 fee, and the card behind the room

A valid credit card is required to guarantee each reservation. The bureau states that it will charge a $50 cancellation fee for room cancellations made at any time, and that cancellations made directly with the hotel will also incur the fee. The charge appears on a card statement as CONFDIRECT*SPIEPW27.

The bureau also directs each guest to the hotel for its own guarantee and cancellation policy. A guest who cancels pays the bureau's $50 whatever the date.

The rate list the bureau publishes

The 2027 block carries 45 properties, each with a starting rate and a distance to the event. The spread runs from $149 at the Yotel San Francisco to $555 at The St. Regis San Francisco.

Closest to the halls is W San Francisco at 0.08 miles and $359. The St. Regis San Francisco carries the block's top rate at $555 and sits 0.16 miles out. At 0.20 to 0.26 miles: Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa $356, San Francisco Marriott Marquis $356 as the HQ hotel, Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SOMA $356, and InterContinental San Francisco at 888 Howard Street at $349 with fees included.

At 0.32 to 0.45 miles: The Mosser Hotel at 54 4th Street $249, The Clancy San Francisco, Autograph Collection $344, Hotel Zelos at 12 4th Street $246, and Hotel Zetta $246.

Four properties share the $159 band: Hotel Garrett, Hotel Julian, King George Hotel and SoMa House. Hotel Julian's rate includes fees. Tilden Hotel runs $199 and The Marker San Francisco $209.

The bureau flags availability against each property. CitizenM San Francisco Union Square carries waitlist status at $274, and Hotel VIA, Hotel Zeppelin and Timbri Hotel San Francisco show partial availability.

The nights the week needs

The block's own selectable night window runs Saturday, January 23, 2027 through Tuesday, February 9, 2027. The conference dates sit inside it.

An attendee on the floor for the Saturday opening either travels Friday, January 29 or takes an early Saturday flight. The week closes Thursday, February 4, which makes five nights, January 30 through February 3, cover the conference against a Thursday checkout.

Where to book, and who answers the questions

SPIE takes reservations through Passkey at book.passkey.com/event/51251869/owner/6893/home, where the guest selects attendee or exhibitor before searching dates. Housing questions go to the bureau at spie@conferencedirect.com or (801) 512-2163, staffed Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Eastern.

The Moscone Center is at 747 Howard Street and Moscone West at 800 Howard Street.

The desk checklist

First, confirm the guest's last conference day. Second, book before January 25, 2027 and ask the hotel for its own cancellation window before choosing inventory. Third, get two terms in writing: the property's own cancellation window, and whether the published figure is a single-occupancy starting rate.

Do those three and the booking window becomes a date rather than a negotiation. The bureau's $50 fee applies to a cancellation on any date.
