Five days at the Expo Center

The Portland Boat Show runs Wednesday, Jan. 13, to Sunday, Jan. 17, 2027, at the Portland Expo Center, 2025 North Expo Road. The show occupies Halls C, D and E.

Doors run 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Marketplace Events produces the show. Metro operates the venue.

The lot charges per space

The organiser's Show Info page reads "$15 per space charged by the facility. No in/out privileges." The FAQ repeats the figure.

The venue's parking page reads "Parking is typically $15 per car per entry" and adds that special-event prices may vary. The lot takes cash and major credit cards.

Parking is free after 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The FAQ calls it a $15 saving. It caps the offer in its own capitals: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday ONLY.

Four nights cover five show days

Check in Wednesday, Jan. 13, and check out Sunday, Jan. 17. That is four nights, for the nights of the 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th. All five show days sit inside the span.

The Sunday checkout happens before the 10 a.m. opening. The car carries the bags.

A Thursday arrival moves the first drive onto the opening morning. A fifth night buys an evening.

One car or none

Five entries at $15 is $75. Two cars across the five days is $150.

The show's directions block carries one line: "Take the Max Yellow Line." The MAX Yellow Line stops at the Expo Center station, a short walk from the entrance.

TriMet charges an adult $2.80 for a 2½-hour ticket and stops charging at $5.60 in a day. Five days at the daily cap is $28, the same as ten adult tickets.

The free window runs on a clock

A car entering the lot at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday pays $15. A car entering at 5:05 p.m. pays nothing.

The window opens again on Thursday and Friday. Saturday and Sunday carry no evening window.

A property near the Expo Center station turns each of those three evenings into a walk or a short ride.

What to ask the property

Ask four questions. How far is the property from the Expo Center station? Does the property charge for parking, per night or per exit? What is the cancellation deadline? Does the property hold luggage after the Sunday checkout?

Ask for the cancellation deadline in writing.

The show publishes no hotel partner list and no room block. Its attendee pages carry the hours, the admission price and the parking note.

The gate price

General admission is $20. Children 12 and under enter free. The show adds "Fees may apply."

The FAQ links a printable coupon, described as "$20 off, 2-for-1". The coupon page reads that it "is only good when purchasing two tickets" and "is not valid for 1/2 off a single admission."

Two adults pay $40 at the gate and $20 with the coupon. The coupon form asks for a name, an email address and a ZIP code. The file opens in Acrobat Reader.

Two adults with the coupon, one $15 entry and no evening return clear a show day for $35.

Booking order

Fix the four nights first. A party of ten or more rooms a night can send the dates through hotelhuddle, where one request reaches more than 50 hotels in the destination city at no charge and the traveller pays the hotel directly. Some hotels take five rooms as a group.

Then take the transit decision. Then print the coupon.

Access and directions

Accessible spaces sit close to the building entrances for vehicles displaying a valid DMV disability placard. Curbside drop-off zones sit in front of each building.

From Interstate 5, northbound traffic takes exit 306B and southbound traffic takes exit 307, both for Marine Drive.
