The ZERO TO THREE LEARN Conference runs October 27 to 29 at the Oregon Convention Center, and the housing position is settled: there is no block. The organiser’s hotels page states that its hotel blocks are no longer available, that the seven properties it lists sit outside an official room block, and that ZERO TO THREE holds no reserved rooms and no negotiated rates at any of them.

A direct booking at one of the seven is the route. Three sit inside a 12-minute walk of the convention center at 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Four sit downtown, about a 10-minute MAX ride away. Every address and distance below is the organiser’s own.

Three properties within a 12-minute walk

Courtyard by Marriott Portland Downtown/Convention Center, 435 NE Wasco St, Portland, OR 97232. The organiser measures 0.3 miles and a 7-minute walk. The hotel’s own Marriott listing reads (503) 234-3200.

Crowne Plaza Portland-Downtown Convention Center, 1441 NE 2nd Ave, Portland, OR 97232. 0.4 miles and a 9-minute walk. Phone (503) 233-2401. The organiser prints that same number beside the Courtyard, so confirm which property answers before you quote a rate.

Jupiter NEXT, 900 E Burnside St, Portland, OR 97214. 0.6 miles and a 12-minute walk. Phone (503) 230-9200.

Those three remove the light rail fare and the garage charge from the trip. A 7-minute walk also covers the 7:30 a.m. coffee start on Wednesday.

Four downtown properties on the light rail

The MAX Red, Blue and Green lines stop at the Convention Center and reach downtown in roughly 10 minutes, per the organiser’s page. Each of these four books at a public rate, with nothing negotiated for the conference.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Downtown, 319 SW Pine St, Portland, OR 97204. 1.1 miles, a 6-minute drive, a 10-minute MAX ride. Phone (503) 279-9000.

Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland, 422 SW Broadway, Portland, OR 97205. 1.3 miles, an 8-minute drive, a 12-minute MAX ride. Phone (503) 228-1212.

Hampton Inn & Suites Portland-Pearl District, 354 NW 9th Ave, Portland, OR 97209. 1.3 miles and an 8-minute drive. Phone (503) 222-5200.

Moxy Portland Downtown, 585 SW 10th Ave, Portland, OR 97205. 1.5 miles, a 9-minute drive, a 13-minute MAX ride. Phone (971) 339-4717.

The adult MAX fare is $2.80 for a 2½-hour ticket. Tapping the same card again caps a day at $5.60. Three days of round trips stay under $17. The venue garage charges $15 for up to 18 hours.

Price the room beside the registration clock

Registration is the one figure the organiser publishes, and it carries a deadline. Standard rates run August 3 through October 26: $550 for members, $650 for non-members. Onsite rates run October 27 to 29: $580 for members, $680 for non-members. The onsite step adds $30 in both columns. Groups of five or more take $50 off each registration.

None of the seven hotels publishes a rate on the organiser’s page. Ask each property for the nightly rate across October 26 to 29, the cancellation deadline in writing, and whether the rate is refundable. Put that nightly number beside the $550 member figure and the nights you intend to keep.

Set the nights against the schedule

Pre-conference programming runs Tuesday, October 27. Registration is open 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and closed 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The pre-conference sessions run 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The conference opens the same day with a 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. screening and a 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. opening reception.

Wednesday, October 28 starts with coffee at 7:30 a.m. and the opening plenary at 9:00 a.m., and closes with a research plenary from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29 runs registration 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the policy plenary at 9:00 a.m., and a keynote from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

A Monday, October 26 check-in with a Thursday, October 29 checkout is the three-night booking for a full attendee. Skipping pre-conference saves a night on a Tuesday arrival. One date needs flagging: the convention center’s own calendar lists this event in Hall A for October 28 and 29, while ZERO TO THREE publishes October 27 to 29. Book to the organiser’s span, which includes the Tuesday pre-conference day.

Read both cancellation clauses

ZERO TO THREE charges a $75 transaction fee on all cancellations and processes refund requests within 60 days of receipt. It takes no refund request after September 15, 2026. Registrations transfer to another person at any time, at no stated fee. Ask each property for its own cancellation deadline and transfer rule in writing, and keep the reply.

Third-party room offers

ZERO TO THREE states that third-party companies are contacting attendees with hotel offers and that those companies are not affiliated with it. It directs attendees to the hotel information on the official conference site or to the property directly.

The conference FAQ page still reads that discounted hotel rates are available first come, first served and that hotel blocks will be shared once available. The hotels page carries the later statement. Treat the hotels page as current.

Portland International Airport sits 10 miles and about 14 minutes from the convention center, per the organiser’s FAQ. Book Monday to Thursday, choose between a 12-minute walk and a 10-minute MAX ride, and get the room’s cancellation terms before the October 26 registration step.
