The Sunday that sets the booking
Shamrock Run Fest presented by Toyota runs on Sunday 14 March 2027 in downtown Portland. Every race starts at SW Naito Parkway and Pine Street. The half marathon goes at 7:20 a.m., the 8K at 9:00 a.m., the Stride walk at 9:50 a.m., the Doernbecher Leprechaun Lap at 10:20 a.m. and the 5K at 11:15 a.m.
The 5K covers 3.1 miles out and back through the streets. A runner in that wave finishes before noon with the afternoon free.
What the organiser publishes about hotels
The Hotels link in the site menu opens a HotelPlanner event page headed Shamrock Run 2027, dated 12 to 14 March 2027, Portland, OR. The page lists one property: Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Downtown at 319 SW Pine St., Portland, OR 97204, at Starting at $120.
The listing carries the group terms. Complimentary guestroom wifi for all guests of the group. A complimentary full hot buffet breakfast daily in the Arcadian Garden. Early access to a light breakfast for the group on race day, Sunday 14 March 2027. Key card access to the fitness center, open 24 hours.
The organiser's own hotels page prints a second figure for the same address: RATES: FROM $174 PER NIGHT, including a 3.00 percent mandatory charge per stay and excluding tax.
Two nights on the block page
The block window is 12 to 14 March. That is two nights, Friday and Saturday, with a Sunday checkout. A three-night stay needs a Thursday 11 March arrival or a Monday 15 March checkout. Ask the property which dates the rate covers before you count on three nights at $120.
The window ends on the race morning. The block publishes no checkout hour, and the half marathon starts at 7:20 a.m. Ask whether the room is yours until the 5K gun at 11:15, whether bags can be held after checkout, and what the Sunday night costs if you want the room back after the finish.
The start line sits three blocks from the block hotel
Every race begins at SW Naito Parkway and Pine Street. The block hotel is at 319 SW Pine St., and the organiser describes it as three short blocks from the starting line.
Four events close at three finish lines. The 5K, the half marathon and the Stride walk finish at SW Naito and Yamhill Street. The 8K finishes at SW Naito Parkway and Stark Street. The Leprechaun Lap finishes back at SW Naito Parkway and Pine Street.
What an 11:15 a.m. gun leaves you
The post-race programme runs at Kell's Irish After Party, with live bands, the beer garden and one complimentary beverage, plus refreshments in the finish area. A 5K finisher has the afternoon. A half marathoner who starts at 7:20 has the whole day.
The distance pages still name a 2026 race shirt and finisher medal in their what-is-included block, and say the 2027 medal and shirt will drop later. Ask what the entry buys this cycle.
Compare the block against a direct rate
Three steps. Ask the block page or the property for the all-in nightly figure for the exact nights, with taxes and fees included. Call the front desk for the same room type on the same nights and ask for the best available rate, plus any member or auto-club rate. Put the two cancellation deadlines beside each other.
Ask one more question on both sides: what a shortened stay costs. A three-night booking that drops to two is where a group rate shows terms its rate line never carried.
The entry price ladder
Half marathon $95, with the final release from $136. 8K $55, final release from $75. 5K $42, final release from $59. Stride walk $39, from $55. Leprechaun Lap $20, from $35. Every half marathon runner must be 13 or older on race day.
Early access and previous releases read sold out on the same pages. The current release is the one open today, and the final release replaces it on a date the pages do not print.
Parking on race morning
The organiser's parking answer points to City Center Parking's lots and garages near Waterfront Park, with fees set by the operators. It also lists US Bancorp Tower at 129 SW 4th Avenue, entered from Pine Street or 4th Avenue, at $8 for race day parking. The organiser recommends the MAX or TriMet and publishes a map of bike rack locations.
Two questions go to the hotel with the rate. What the garage charges for the Sunday night, and whether the gate opens before 7 a.m.
The booking order
Register first, while the current release is open. Fix the nights second, and start from the Sunday start. Fix the checkout hour third, in writing. Fix parking fourth. Compare the block against a direct rate fifth, and keep the cancellation deadline beside the price.
The block window ends on the morning the race starts. Book the nights the race asks for, then hold the property to the terms it published.
