The Slam Dunk Cheer and Dance Championships runs March 6 and 7, 2027 in Hall D at the Oregon Convention Center. Pacific Coast Cheer Co. Brands organises the weekend. Its flyer prints one clock for both days: doors 7:30 a.m., warmups 8:00 a.m., competition 8:30 a.m., awards through the day.

The same flyer states the housing position in its own words: We are not stay to play, but we offer great rates with our partnering hotels! Link is on the website under the Events and Hotels.

Nothing in the entry process ties a family's booking to a team's registration. The venue page carries no housing bureau, no rooming list deadline and no penalty for booking outside a list.

The organiser's hotel link does not resolve

The flyer prints www.pacificcoastcheerbrands.com as the route to that list. On 20 October 2026 the name returned no address from Google Public DNS or from Cloudflare, over http and over https. The domain is unregistered.

No partner property, event rate, group code or cut-off date appears anywhere else on the venue page. A March booker has no organiser price to anchor against. The two organiser contacts the venue publishes are 253.339.0710 and pacificcheercobrands@gmail.com.

The floor: Hall D at 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd

Portland, OR 97232. The venue sits eight miles from Portland International Airport, off Interstate 5 at Exit 302A or Interstate 84 West at Exit 1.

Parking is underground, 800 spaces, entered from NE Lloyd Boulevard for level P1 or NE First Avenue for level P2. Clearance is 7 feet on P1 and 9 feet on P2.

The venue publishes its rates: Up to 18 hours: $15 (No in and out privileges.) Over 18 hours adds fees. Larger events pay a dynamic $15 to $25 at entry. The garage generally opens daily at 6:00 a.m.

Two lines change a two-day booking. Overnight parking is prohibited. The booths are cashless, so the fee comes off a card at the gate. Spaces are first come, first served.

Two days, one overnight

Hall D is the room. The weekend is a Saturday and a Sunday, and the Saturday clock starts at 7:30 a.m. That makes the night of March 6 the mandatory one. A Friday night buys an unhurried Saturday morning.

The garage rule splits the parking. A car cannot sit in the OCC garage overnight, so a Saturday stay buys the venue garage by day and a hotel garage by night. A guest who parks at the hotel for both nights pays hotel rates for both.

What five nearby buildings publish six days later

The American Counseling Association meets at the same venue March 11 to 14 and publishes group rates for five properties. Those rates belong to the ACA block and cannot be booked for the cheer weekend. They are the only current published prices for these five buildings, which makes them the bracket to beat.

DoubleTree by Hilton Portland, 1000 NE Multnomah St: $209, self-parking from $31, check-in 4 p.m. Crowne Plaza Portland Downtown Convention Center, 1441 NE 2nd Ave: $230, self-parking from $30, check-in 3 p.m. Courtyard by Marriott Portland Downtown/Convention Center, 435 NE Wasco St: $259, self-parking and valet both from $43, check-in 3 p.m. Hotel Eastlund, 1441 NE Grand Ave: $259, valet from $43, check-in 4 p.m. Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center, 375 NE Holladay St: $269 plus a $25 daily destination fee, self-parking from $38, valet from $45, check-in 3 p.m.

Portland adds lodging tax to the room line. The city publishes 6 percent, Multnomah County 5.5 percent, and a 3 percent Portland Tourism Improvement District fee, which totals 14.5 percent. Oregon levies no sales tax.

Run the arithmetic. The $209 room reaches $239.31 with tax before a single parking charge. The $269 room reaches $308.01 with tax, before the $25 fee and before $38 of self-parking.

Ask four questions, in this order

What does one night on March 6 cost on a rate that cancels without a charge? What does a second night cost at the same rate? What does parking cost per night, and does the car stay in one place? What is the latest hour to cancel?

Hold the parking answer against the venue garage. A property asking $43 a night wants $86 across two nights, against $30 for two days at the OCC. At $30 or $31 the hotel garage wins on convenience.

Getting to the door without the car

TriMet MAX stops 300 times a day near the front door, and the Portland Streetcar A Loop arrives at NE MLK and Hoyt every 15 minutes outside the main entrances. Another 566 metered spaces sit within three blocks.

Park at the hotel and ride the train. The $15 entry rate never applies.

Inside the building

OCC is cashless across food and beverage, the parking garages, locker rentals and vending. A cash-to-card machine in the MLK lobby swaps cash for a Visa card and charges no fee.

Lockers sit in the MLK lobby, the Holladay lobby and the Ginkoberry concourse, booked from a phone with a card. Complimentary Wi-Fi covers the lobbies and meeting rooms.

A bag that leaves the hotel on Saturday morning can sit in a locker through the competition day.

If you are bringing a team

hotelhuddle sends one request to 50+ hotels in the destination, and hotels return competing quotes in 24 to 72 hours. Submission is free. Hotels pay the platform a commission on a booking, and the guest pays the hotel directly at a rate that carries no added markup. Most group rates need 10 or more rooms a night, and some start at 5.

A programme travelling with families holds that room count.

The order to do this in

Fix the Saturday night first, because the weekend has one. Price parking as its own line, because the venue garage will not hold the car overnight. Compare each offer on room plus parking plus tax.
