The 2026 USA Track & Field Annual Meeting sells its Portland hotel rooms through the registration confirmation. USATF states that order on its event page and again in its FAQ. A delegate who books out of order holds a reservation the block can cancel at the desk.
The order runs membership, registration, rooms
A current USATF membership is required to register and attend. Registration opened September 17, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. ET. On completion, the registrant receives an email with instructions on how to book hotel rooms for the Annual Meeting. That email is the only route into the block.
The FAQ states the failure mode in one sentence. Anyone booking rooms within the block who is not yet registered for the meeting will have their room cancelled.
Two block hotels, one link each
USATF has secured discounted room blocks for registered attendees at the Hyatt Regency Portland at the Convention Center and the DoubleTree by Hilton Portland. Our directory lists the Hyatt Regency at 375 NE Holladay St, 97232, and the DoubleTree at 1000 NE Multnomah St, 97232. Book with the provided link to receive the discount.
USATF publishes no nightly rate for either block. Ask the property for the rate, the tax line and the cancellation deadline in writing before you commit a card.
What registration costs, and when it steps
The fee is $385.00 per person before November 4, 2026 at 2:59 a.m. ET. It becomes $435.00 per person on or after November 4, 2026 at 3:00 a.m. ET. Online registration closes Saturday, December 5, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. ET.
In-person registration is not allowed. A latecomer arriving before 3:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, December 5 may complete online registration. All sales are final, and USATF states no refund for a cancelled registration.
The night count across December 3 to 6
The meeting runs December 3 to 6, 2026, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in the Oregon Ballroom at the Oregon Convention Center. A Thursday December 3 check-in against a Sunday December 6 checkout is three nights.
Three nights carry the programme. The Opening Session starts Thursday at 5:00 p.m. The Officials Hall of Fame Banquet sits Friday at 6:00 p.m. at $80 a ticket. The Awards Breakfast starts Saturday at 6:30 a.m., Night of Legends runs Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at $50, and the Closing Session opens Sunday at 8:00 a.m.
Credentials are the reason to consider a fourth night. USATF says credential pickup at the Convention Center starts Wednesday afternoon, December 2, with hours to be published. A Wednesday arrival turns three nights into four and clears the Thursday queue.
USATF permits the extra night. Attendees are allowed to book rooms before the start of the Annual Meeting and after its conclusion, based on hotel availability, and all additional nights are the sole financial responsibility of the attendee. Ask the housing contact whether the block rate extends to that Wednesday, because USATF does not state that it does.
The venue calendar prints a wider span than the meeting. The Oregon Convention Center lists the Oregon Ballroom booking as November 29 to December 7. Take the meeting dates from USATF and treat the venue span as the building hire.
If the block sells out
USATF runs a wait list through its travel department. The JTeam Management hotel booking site carries overflow options when the blocks fill, so check that page before you pay a market rate elsewhere. USATF publishes no room count for either block.
Getting to the hall without a shuttle
USATF provides no transportation from PDX to the host hotels, and none from the hotels to the convention center. Every registrant receives a complimentary five-day unlimited MAX Light Rail pass at credential pickup. The travel page dates the pass from December 3 to December 7, and the FAQ calls it five days.
The Red Line runs from the airport to the convention center in about 30 minutes. Trains arrive every 15 to 20 minutes. Most lines start around 4 a.m. and stop around midnight, so a late arrival falls outside those hours. Without the pass, a standard adult fare is $2.80 and covers 2.5 hours.
Southwest is selling meeting fares on the SWABIZ link valid for travel November 29 to December 9, 2026. Delta's meeting code is NY575, and the page warns that the code does not reduce Main Basic tickets.
Driving in
The convention center garage holds 800 spaces, entered from NE Lloyd Blvd on P1 or NE First Avenue on P2. Clearance is 7 feet on P1 and 9 feet on P2. The standard rate is $15 for up to 18 hours with no in-and-out privileges, and event entry runs a dynamic $15 to $25.
The garage generally opens daily at 6:00 a.m. Overnight parking is prohibited, so the garage cannot replace a room. Booths take card and touchless payment only.
What to settle in writing
Register first, then use the confirmation link. Ask for the nightly rate, the tax line, the cancellation cutoff and whether the Wednesday night carries the block rate. Confirm the checkout time against the Sunday 8:00 a.m. Closing Session, and ask the property to hold a late checkout if your flight leaves in the afternoon.
