ATD OrgDev runs September 29 to October 1, 2026
The Association for Talent Development brings its OrgDev conference to the Indiana Convention Center for three days, September 29 to October 1, 2026. The venue lists forecast attendance at 1,000 and puts the sessions in Sagamore 1-7.
ATD publishes five core areas: culture and people, talent strategy and management, strategic business partnership, leadership development programs, and leverage of AI and emerging technologies. Eligible sessions may count toward APTD and CPTD recertification.
The venue event page prints September 30 to October 1 in its body copy. Confirm the arrival day on the organizer's page before you book a non-refundable room.
Book on walk time to the Sagamore rooms. The session rooms, the exhibit floor and the evening meal all sit inside the convention district.
Walk distance sets the shortlist
The convention center reports more than half of downtown's 7,100-plus hotel rooms within blocks of the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium. Another 4,700 rooms connect to the convention center by skywalk.
The venue states that closing and opening times for the facility and its skywalks are event-dependent, with a rule of thumb of a lockdown at approximately 11:00 p.m. and a reopening at approximately 6:00 a.m. A delegate who leaves an evening session late needs a property on the connected system.

JW Marriott Indianapolis, 1,005 rooms at 10 South West Street. Signia by Hilton Indianapolis, 803 rooms, carried in the package with an expected 2026 opening; the convention center's news item of April 21, 2026 says the hotel is accepting reservations for February 2027, so confirm the open date before you count on those rooms. Indy Marriott, 650 rooms. The Westin Indianapolis, 575 rooms at 241 West Washington Street. Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, 499 rooms at 1 S Capitol Ave, connected to the convention center and to Circle Centre mall. Embassy Suites by Hilton Indianapolis - Downtown, 360 rooms at 110 West Washington Street. Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Downtown Union Station, 273 rooms. The September 28 squeeze
Do it Best Corp. Fall Market uses the building September 25 to 28 with forecast attendance of 12,000. OrgDev opens the day that market closes, so the night of September 28 carries the market's final rooms and the first OrgDev arrivals.
Three conferences then share September 29 to October 1 on the venue calendar: OrgDev, the MAPP Benchmarking and Best Practices Conference, and ATD Core4. Downtown inventory built for one 1,000-person show serves three.
Book one reservation across the nights of September 28, 29 and 30, and book it ahead of the Fall Market block. Ask the hotel to state its cancellation deadline in writing, together with the nightly difference between its flexible rate and its non-refundable rate. A group block with an attrition clause suits a delegation with a fixed head count.
Getting in, parking and dinner
Indianapolis International Airport sits 15 minutes from downtown by the convention center's own measure. The airport's Ground Transportation Center, on the first floor of the Terminal Garage, connects to bus service, car rental, taxi, Uber and Lyft, hotel courtesy vehicles and limousines, with curbside taxi outside Baggage Claim. IndyGo runs the city bus network and answers route questions at (317) 635-3344. Open Door is IndyGo's ADA paratransit service. For a taxi, the venue recommends the Maryland Street canopy and notes that access there can be restricted during certain events.
Denison Parking operates every Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium lot. Downtown holds more than 70,000 parking spaces. Reserve and pre-pay at an ICC or Lucas Oil Stadium lot, or check rates and hours on the Downtown Indy Alliance interactive map. Accessible spaces sit in surrounding lots and garages on a first-come, first-served basis, and metered accessible spaces surround the facility.
Downtown keeps 200 restaurants within walking distance of the convention center.
Put the rooms out to bid
A learning and development team that travels as a delegation can send its dates in one request. hotelHuddle puts that request to 50 or more hotels in the destination at no charge. Hotels answer in 24 to 72 hours. Most hotels set group rates at 10 or more rooms a night, and some discount from five rooms depending on season and availability. hotelHuddle states that a hotel pays a commission when you book and that your rate is never marked up.
