Two deadlines fell on the same Friday

SEMICON West 2026 runs Tuesday 13 October to Thursday 15 October at the Moscone Center, 747 Howard Street, San Francisco. Two dates fell on Friday 25 September.

The advance registration window closed that day. The official housing block's penalty-free cancellation window closed on the same date.

The housing portal SEMI runs with Convention Management Resources now reads "Housing is now closed" and sends guests to their confirmed hotel for changes and cancellations from 1 October. A room booked now sits outside the block.

What a pass costs at standard rate

The registration page now quotes standard rates. For a SEMI member, the Expo Plus Pass reads $340, the Thought Leadership Pass $945, and the All-In Pass $1,230. For a non-member, the same three passes read $440, $1,245 and $1,625.

Two registration dates sit on the same page. Refund requests closed on 1 October against a $25 processing fee. Only substitutions are accepted after that date.

The housing ladder and where it leaves you

The block ran on four dated steps. Rooming lists were due Friday 28 August. Cancellations carried no penalty through Friday 25 September. Add, change or cancel closed on Tuesday 29 September. From Thursday 1 October the hotels took the reservations back.

Two block terms still shape an outside booking. The block required a credit card to guarantee the room. Hotels may charge a deposit of one night's room and tax two to three weeks before arrival. Ask any property you approach now whether it wants a deposit on the same terms.

CMR is SEMI's only authorised housing provider for these dates. The portal warns that no other agency has an agreement with the San Francisco hotels.

Sunday 11 October is the quiet night

The show floor is dark on Sunday 11 October. Programming starts on Monday 12 October, the pre-show day. Monday carries the SEMI U courses and the SEMI Market Symposium. The three main days follow, and the CEO Summit keynotes and the TechTALKS run across all three. The expo floor is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday. SEMICON WestFest takes Moscone South, Level 300, on Tuesday evening from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m.

The housing portal's default was a Monday 12 October arrival against a Thursday 15 October departure, which is three nights. Most travel to this show lands on those three nights.

Sunday 11 October sits ahead of the first scheduled session. A Sunday arrival extends the stay to four nights.

Booking outside the block

Ask every property for the nightly rate on each of your nights. A weekly average hides the Sunday and Monday figures.

Ask for the cancellation deadline in writing, and for the gap between the flexible and the non-refundable rate.

Price the tax in before you compare. San Francisco charges a 14 percent transient occupancy tax on accommodation rented for fewer than 30 days. The Tourism Improvement District assessment is charged separately on top of it. Both fall on the room rent.

What to put in the request

State the nights you want first. Four nights from Sunday 11 October with a Thursday checkout cover the pre-show day and the three main days. Three nights from Monday 12 October match the housing block's default.

Then name the guardrails: the nightly rate, the deposit the hotel wants and when, the cancellation deadline in writing, and the total with the 14 percent tax and the district assessment added. Get the rate and the deadline confirmed in writing before you pay anything.
