February in Indianapolis: The 2027 AFCA Convention
The American Football Coaches Association brings its annual convention and exhibit hall to the Indiana Convention Center at 100 South Capitol Ave from 14 to 16 February 2027. The venue lists a forecast attendance of 7,000. The convention runs Sunday to Tuesday, so the rooms go first.
One Authorised Booking Route
The AFCA opened convention housing on 14 July 2026 with a notice that names the route and the vendor. Fastbreak Travel is the Official Housing Company of the AFCA Convention and the only authorized provider for convention hotel reservations. The block sits at afca.fastbreaktravel.com/Event/9805/.
The notice states that booking inside the official block helps the association meet its contractual commitments with its host hotels. It also warns that unauthorised housing companies may contact members, exhibitors or sponsors, and that those companies are not affiliated with the AFCA and cannot guarantee reservations.
Twenty-Three Properties, All Within 0.561 Miles
The Fastbreak portal lists 23 properties in the AFCA block. Every one sits within 0.561 miles of the hall on South Capitol Avenue, and the closest is Signia by Hilton Indianapolis at 101 West Georgia St, 0.145 miles out. Available inventory runs from 101 rooms at Le Méridien Indianapolis to 1,064 at JW Marriott Indianapolis. Every property accepts a group sub-block of 5 to 60 rooms.
Three Cut-Off Dates
Block cut-offs cluster on two days in January. Eight properties close on 14 January 2027: Omni Severin Hotel, Holiday Inn Indianapolis Downtown by IHG, JW Marriott Indianapolis, The Westin Indianapolis, Marriott Indianapolis Downtown, Courtyard by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown, Springhill Suites by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown and Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown. Hilton Indianapolis Hotel and Suites closes on 21 January. The other fourteen close on 22 January.
The 14 January deadline lands 31 days before the Sunday opening.
Deposits and Two-Night Minimums
Six properties carry the same deposit term: one night's room and tax due on or around 15 January 2027, collected by the hotel. Those six are Springhill Suites, Courtyard Indianapolis Downtown, The Westin, Marriott Indianapolis Downtown, Fairfield Inn and Suites and JW Marriott. All six carry the 14 January cut-off, so the deposit lands the day after the deadline.
Signia by Hilton Indianapolis sets a firmer term. Its listing reads: a nonrefundable deposit of one night's room and tax, collected on or around 22 January 2027 by the hotel.
Three properties require a two-night stay. Omni Severin Hotel at 40 West Jackson Place and Holiday Inn Indianapolis Downtown by IHG at 515 South West Street carry that minimum with the 14 January cut-off, and Hyatt Place and Hyatt House Indianapolis Downtown at 130 South Pennsylvania Street carries it with the 22 January cut-off.
Skywalk Rooms and the Downtown Walk
Three block properties state they connect to the convention center by skywalk: The Westin Indianapolis, Marriott Indianapolis Downtown and JW Marriott Indianapolis. The venue counts 4,700 rooms connected by skywalk and 7,100 hotel rooms downtown, with more than half of those downtown rooms within blocks of the hall. Skywalk hours are event-dependent, and the venue's rule of thumb is a lockdown around 11:00 p.m. and a reopening around 6:00 a.m.
Rates, Parking and Fees: What to Confirm
The portal publishes a starting rate for 22 of the 23 properties, from $139 at TRU by Hilton to $264 at Marriott Indianapolis Downtown. JW Marriott Indianapolis carries no figure. Parking notes sit in the hotels' own words: Omni Severin valet at $56 to $68 a day, Sheraton City Centre valet only at $55, Hilton Indianapolis self at $54 and valet at $59, Holiday Inn Downtown, Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge Suites $25, and TRU by Hilton $30 self. Hyatt Regency adds $25 per night for guests aged 18 and over. Ask each property to put its rate, deposit, cut-off and cancellation terms in writing before you commit.
Booking the Block
Group requests run through the portal's Create Group Room Block route. Event coordinator Tori Watson is listed, with a team line at (888) 290-3210. Ask four questions in writing: the cut-off date for your property, the deposit date and amount, whether the two-night minimum applies to your stay, and the cancellation terms.
The week around the convention is loaded. The Indiana Health and Safety Conference and Expo runs 7 to 10 February, the Indiana Green Expo 8 to 10 February, the Core-Mark Expo 10 to 11 February, the Economic Club of Indiana Luncheon takes 12 February, and the WWETT Show follows from 22 to 25 February. Downtown holds more than 70,000 parking spaces, and Denison Parking operates every convention center and Lucas Oil Stadium lot. IndyGo runs the bus service with a call center at (317) 635-3344, the Maryland Street canopy is the recommended taxi pick-up point, and the airport sits 15 minutes away.
