The 10:30 a.m. step-off
The 45th Annual Official Martin Luther King Jr. Parade of the City of Dallas steps off at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 18, 2027. H.E.L.P. produces the parade as a signature event of the City of Dallas MLK Celebration. The 2027 theme is "From Dream to Action — 45 Years Walking the Path of Justice."
The organizer publishes one clock time for the morning. The walk or drive to the route rests on the property's answer about street closures.
The four streets the organizer names
The volunteer section of the H.E.L.P. Support Us page carries the organizer's list of the streets its parade team works. It reads: "Street teams will distribute parade notifications to addresses within designated parade areas (Botham Jean Blvd., Al Lipscomb Way, Pennsylvania Ave., Robert B. Cullum Ave.) in December." The meet point for that work is the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, 2922 MLK, Jr. Boulevard.
Those four names are the organizer's own definition of the ground it notifies. Use them as a checklist against a hotel address. The parade page publishes no 2027 route map.
How to check an address, in four steps
Step one: take the street name from the property. Use the address the hotel publishes on its own site. A booking mirror can carry the street of a former entrance, a mailing address or a sister property in the same group.
Step two: compare the name, exactly. Botham Jean Blvd., Al Lipscomb Way, Pennsylvania Ave., Robert B. Cullum Ave. Record whether the match is the full name or only the surname. A reservationist reading a two-word answer will say yes to "Cullum Avenue" when the street is Robert B. Cullum Avenue.
Step three: ask for the block number and the nearest cross street. Each of these streets runs for many blocks. A property on Botham Jean Blvd. well south of the parade area carries the right street name and sits too far to walk.
Step four: put the four names to the property in writing. Ask whether the route passes the door, whether the street closes, at what hour, and which way a car leaves afterwards. Keep the desk's reply in the booking file.
What a match buys
A match puts the guest inside the area the organizer notifies in December. The walk then depends on the route passing the door, and the property confirms that along with the closure hour.
OpenStreetMap places Botham Jean Boulevard, Al Lipscomb Way and Pennsylvania Avenue in ZIP 75215. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center at 2922 MLK, Jr. Boulevard sits 0.92 road miles from the African American Museum in Fair Park, about three minutes by routing estimate. A room inside that band is a walking room on the morning of January 18.
If the address falls outside the four
The product becomes a drive. Ask which garage the property uses, its entry height, the hour it fills and whether the guest can exit after the parade passes. Ask whether the lot sits on the closed side of the route. A garage two blocks inside a closure is a longer night than a garage six blocks outside one.
A group that needs the car on Monday morning needs the parking answer before it needs the rate.
The second parade on the same morning
Elite News publishes its own 40th Annual MLK People's Parade & Festival for Monday, January 18, 2027. That one steps off at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Avenue and South Lamar Street, runs east along MLK Jr. Boulevard into Fair Park, and hands over to a noon festival at the Tower Building, 1221 Midway Plaza.
Two organizers publish two step-off times for one morning. When a property says "the parade," ask which one. Both answers are sourced, and the two routes share the boulevard.
The booking terms the organizer publishes
The organizer's site publishes no hotel block, nightly rate, reservation cut-off, shuttle or parking arrangement. The 2027 parade page carries the date, the time, the theme, participant entry fees and a mandatory logistics meeting for entries on Tuesday, January 12, 2027 at 6:30 p.m. at MLK Center Building A, 2922 MLK Blvd.
That meeting serves parade units, and it gives a group no booking deadline. The December notification round is the dated lever, and it tells the neighborhood when the plan arrives.
Five lines to send before you quote
Send the street address on the request. Ask for confirmation that the property sits on one of the four streets. Ask for the block number and cross street. Ask what the property has been told about closures on January 18. Ask for the cancellation deadline in writing.
Then quote two options: the walking room inside the four streets, and the drive-in room outside them with the garage named and the exit hour stated.
