The entry list is closed

The 2026 CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K run Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026. General registration for all in-person distances is sold out.

Two routes remain open. The organiser keeps a waitlist for the full marathon and the half marathon. The charity route runs through official charity partners, and each partner sets its own fundraising or donation minimum. Transfers and deferrals sit alongside both routes.

An entry through a charity partner can arrive after the block's own deadlines, so the entry date and the room date run on separate clocks.

What the stay has to cover

The Monumental Health and Fitness Expo and packet pickup run Thursday, Nov. 5, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday, Nov. 6, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the Indiana Convention Center. The convention center sits one block south of the start and finish areas on Maryland Street.

Gear check opens at 6:30 a.m. Saturday at Washington Street and West Street. The half marathon and the marathon start at 8 a.m., the 5K at 8:40 a.m., and the course closes at 3:30 p.m.

Every participant collects the official clear gear check bag at the expo. Race morning accepts that bag alone, so the expo visit belongs inside the stay.

Friday night covers the longer expo window and the 6:30 a.m. gear check. Thursday night adds the shorter expo window and a second night behind the start.

The block's own calendar

Beyond Monumental holds guest rooms at a number of downtown hotels. The 2026 Hotel Block site asks the visitor to select “Attendee” in the dropdown. The block takes no access code.

Sept. 29 is the deadline to assign guest occupant names to rooms held under one name. Oct. 8 is the deadline to cancel without penalty, and a $25 fee attaches to each reservation cancelled after Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026. Oct. 5 through Oct. 16 is the window to make a new reservation or add a night, and the date varies by hotel and stays subject to availability. Oct. 22 is the deadline to modify an existing reservation through the Visit Indy Housing Bureau. After Oct. 22 the hotel handles every change and every new request.

The block publishes no nightly rate, no minimum hold and no cap on the rooms one name may hold. The rate appears once the dates are entered on the block site.

A search that returns no availability can still leave single or non-sequential nights, and the page directs the guest to call the hotel on those dates. Added days may sit outside block pricing.

The bureau keeps a waitlist for a preferred property and calls when that property opens for the requested dates. housing@visitindy.com and 317-262-8191 answer Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.

Build the price comparison

No published rate means the comparison has to come from the property. Ask for the block rate on Nov. 6 and Nov. 7, the flexible rate on the same two nights, and the cancellation deadline in writing.

Two nights carry the trip: Friday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7. Thursday, Nov. 5 arrives inside the Oct. 5 to Oct. 16 window where the property releases it.

Three other routes across the brands

A group of 10 or more rooms can go out as one request instead of individual reservations. hotelhuddle sends one free request to 50 or more hotels in the destination, and it states that most properties quote group rates from 10 rooms per night with some quoting from five. The platform publishes 103,857 hotels across 46 states, rates 15 to 40 percent below rack rates, and responses inside 24 to 72 hours. The planner pays the hotel directly, and the platform states that it adds no commission to the rate.

A day-use room covers a shower and a work block around the expo or the race. hotelSlots sells four windows: Morning 6 a.m. to noon, Afternoon noon to 6 p.m., Evening 6 p.m. to midnight, and Overnight midnight to 6 a.m. The platform states day rates at 30 to 75 percent below the nightly rate at the same hotel.

hotelhaggle takes a set rate and lets hotels accept or decline it.

The order to book in

Lock Friday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7 first. Those two nights carry packet pickup and the 6:30 a.m. gear check.

Add Thursday inside the Oct. 5 to Oct. 16 window, or send the same two nights to the group channel.

Enter the occupant names before Sept. 29, and release a hold that will not be used before Oct. 8.
